Submission Guidelines

HatedOrLoved is a friendly site we are never too uptight about submission but we do have a few suggestions to get the most out of our community.

Guideline Number One - Don't submit entire websites; submit things like videos, blog postings, news stories, press releases. You get the idea, don't submit ESPN.com - submit an individual story from their site etc.

Guideline Number Two - It is absolutely 100% totally ok to submit you own content if you are a blogger, journalist, etc. All we ask is that you submit other content as well, for best acceptance by our community we recommend at least a one to one ratio of your own content vs. content of others.

Guideline Number Three - Think about your titles and summary. Many times people just cut and paste the title of the article and the first few sentences of the article. That is ok but you are not limited to doing that. Change the article title to fit your own view point if you want and in your summary feel from to inject your opinions. Out site is not a news/blog search engine. We thrive on your opinions, views, etc.

Guideline Number Four - If you hate a story tell people why you hate it. There could be many reasons, you just don't like the people it is about or do you hate it for a political reason? Do you think it is just plain stupid or lame, what ever your reason, tell others about it. If you love it consider adding a comment as well to explain why, beyond what you said in the summary. Often a single first comment is all it takes to make a story turn into a great discussion between members.

Guideline Number Five - Share your story with others! This site and your submissions will do best if new people find out about HatedOrLoved. If you click the "More Info" link for any story you will see an option that says "Email This Link". If you want lots of votes reach out to your friends that you know would like or hate a story and ask them to come join our site and vote on it.

Guideline Number Six - Try to not just vote on your own submissions, you will get a lot more support from the community if you also vote on and comment on the submissions of others. Even just voting on a few stories every day and commenting on one or two will make you a valued member of the community to other users.

Guideline Number Seven - Be civil to other members of the community. On a site called HatedOrLoved it is clear that many people are going to disagree with each other, just try to do so with respect. Remember there is another living, breathing and feeling human on the other end of the Internet from you. Feel free to bash politicians all you like (they expect it) but do try to be civil to one another. In any event cursing at, slurring, slandering or threatening any fellow member of the community will get your account deleted and quite swiftly.
